KSrelief Distributes Food Aid to Flood Victims in Mogadishu

Mogadishu: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has delivered critical food assistance to families affected by flooding in Somalia’s Banadir region.

A total of 1,220 food baskets were distributed in the Kahda and Jarsbaley camps in Mogadishu, benefiting around 7,320 individuals who were displaced or impacted by the heavy rains.

This effort is part of KSrelief’s broader 2025 emergency food and shelter assistance program, which targets flood-hit communities across Somalia.

KSrelief, established in 2015 by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, serves as the nation’s primary humanitarian arm, coordinating and delivering relief efforts worldwide.

Since its inception, the center has implemented more than 2,500 projects in over 90 countries, covering areas such as food security, healthcare, education, water and sanitation, and emergency response. Its work is guided by principles of impartiality, neutrality, and transparency, aiming to support the most vulnerable populations regardless of nationality or background.

The food basket distribution in Mogadishu is one of many initiatives demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s commitment, through KSrelief, to alleviating human suffering and supporting communities in crisis across the globe.
