RIYADH: The Madinah Bus Network will introduce nine new routes today, bringing the total number of active routes to 15.
This expansion enhances coverage of the city’s most densely populated areas and key locations, according to the report.
Managed by the Madinah Region Development Authority, the network now operates a fleet of 177 buses, serving over 455 main and secondary stops along 639 km of routes.
Since its inception three years ago, the bus network has improved traffic flow, boosted public transport quality, and contributed to environmental sustainability by reducing vehicle emissions.
During peak seasons like Ramadan and Hajj, the network has provided continuous shuttle services, easing the movement of worshippers to and from the Prophet’s Mosque.
The authority confirmed that the buses meet high standards, ensuring a comfortable, reliable, and safe experience for all passengers.
