Washington: On Saturday, widespread protests were held in multiple U.S. cities against President Donald Trump. These were the largest demonstrations across the country since Trump took office in January.
Organized under the "Hands Off" movement, rallies were planned in all 50 U.S. states and in over 1,200 locations worldwide. Thousands participated in cities like Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C.
Protesters voiced concerns over a range of social and economic issues stemming from President Trump’s policies. In Boston, some demonstrators specifically protested actions taken by immigration authorities against international students enrolled in U.S. universities.
These protests came just days after President Trump imposed tariffs on several countries. Demonstrations were also held in cities around the world, including London, Paris, and Berlin.
During the protest in London, participants chanted slogans like "Hands off Canada" and "Hands off Greenland," while others carried banners reading "Don’t Oppress People" and "He's a Fool."
Recent surveys show a dip in President Trump’s popularity. A Reuters/Ipsos poll last week showed his approval rating falling from 47% to 43%. Another survey by Harvard CAPS/Harris revealed that 49% of registered voters were satisfied with Trump’s performance, down from 52% the previous month.
