Militants Attack Coastal Highway Checkpost and Vehicles in Gwadar

Gwadar: Unknown armed assailants launched an attack on a Coastal Highway police checkpost and several vehicles in the Makola area between Pasni and Ormara, damaging at least seven vehicles, including one belonging to the Coastal Highway Police.

According to a senior district administration official, the attackers first targeted a police checkpoint, disarming the officers stationed there. Subsequently, they set up a blockade on the highway and caused damage to multiple vehicles.

SP Hafeez Ameer of the Coastal Highway Police confirmed that the militants set fire to a police vehicle and three LPG tankers. Additionally, the tires of three other LPG tankers were deflated, rendering them immobile. The affected tankers were reportedly en route from Karachi to Iran.

This is the fourth such incident this year involving armed attacks and road blockades on highways in Balochistan. Similar attacks were previously reported in Bolan (District Kachhi), Barkhan (Rarkan), and Mangicher (District Kalat).

In a separate incident, four security personnel were killed in fierce clashes with militants in North Waziristan. Security sources reported that the overnight skirmishes resulted in the deaths of at least 13 terrorists.

Meanwhile, on Monday, a security vehicle in Kalat was targeted in a suicide bombing carried out by a female attacker, leading to the death of one security personnel, marks the fifth suicide attack in Pakistan in last 4 days.
