Riyadh: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has advised pilgrims to inspect their luggage before traveling to ensure compliance with regulations and avoid carrying prohibited items that could disrupt their Umrah journey.
A public advisory lists banned items, including fireworks, counterfeit currency, unregistered medications, surveillance devices, radar detectors, stun guns, laser pens, and hidden cameras.
Pilgrims are encouraged to check the full list on the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) website (ZATCA.GOV.SA) for a smooth and secure trip.
The ministry also issued luggage guidelines for air travelers, advising them to avoid non-standard baggage. Circular or unstructured bags, oversized suitcases, heavy luggage, and bags with long straps or excessive buckles should be avoided to prevent handling difficulties.
Pilgrims are urged to check airline baggage policies before departure to prevent travel delays.
