Nissan Secures Pole, Double Points at Miami Formula E Round 5

Miami: Nissan Formula E Team, in partnership with Petromin Corporation’s e-mobility arm Electromin, delivered a strong performance in Round 5 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Miami, securing its first pole of the season and a double points finish despite a post-race setback.

Driver Norman Nato clinched Nissan’s maiden pole position of the season and crossed the line first in a thrilling race. However, a 10-second penalty due to incomplete Attack Mode during a red flag period relegated him to P6.

Teammate Oliver Rowland, who charged from P16 on the grid to finish fourth, was also penalized and classified tenth, still earning valuable championship points.

Petromin CEO Kalyana Sivagnanam said the partnership with Nissan Formula E highlights the company’s focus on sustainable mobility and global EV innovation. “Formula E represents the future of motorsport,” he said.

Nato celebrated his first Julius Baer Pole Position trophy, calling it “a solid result to build on in Monaco.” Rowland noted the team was unlucky but optimistic for the season ahead.

Team Principal Tommaso Volpe added, “We leave Miami more determined than ever to fight for all three championships.”

Formula E returns May 3–4 with a historic double-header in Monte-Carlo.
