No Humanitarian Aid to Enter Gaza, Says Israel Katz

Gaza: Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that no humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza.

Speaking from Israel, Katz explained in a statement that no preparations are underway to bring any food, medicine, or other critical supplies into the Strip.

He said that the blockade is intended to pressure Hamas by cutting off the essential supplies necessary for survival. This decision comes as Israel has blocked aid for more than six weeks, a measure that has raised serious concerns among aid agencies about the risk of a full-blown famine in Gaza.

Updates provided by Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza emphasize that the lack of humanitarian assistance is worsening the already dire conditions of civilians in the area.

The move is part of a long-standing conflict where the blockade has been used as a tool to exert pressure on Hamas, continuing the trend of denying humanitarian relief amid ongoing hostilities in the region.
