UNRWA: No Aid Entered Gaza Since March 2

Jerusalem: UNRWA reported that no humanitarian or commercial supplies have entered Gaza since March 2, following an Israeli decision to halt aid deliveries.

This decision comes amid a large-scale Israeli military operation in the occupied West Bank. The operation began on January 21 in the Jenin refugee camp and later expanded to include Nur Shams camp in Tulkarem.

As of March 9, the military actions have resulted in the deaths of more than 50 Palestinians, including eight children, and have displaced over 35,000 people.

The update comes directly from UNRWA, the United Nations agency responsible for the relief and works for Palestine refugees. The context of this development is rooted in ongoing hostilities in the region, where intensive military operations continue to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.

Israeli authorities' March 2 decision to stop aid shipments has further isolated Gaza, a region already challenged by severe shortages of basic supplies. This news underscores the broader backdrop of protracted conflict, where military engagements and policy decisions are intensifying human suffering in both the West Bank and Gaza.
