Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has categorically ruled out any possibility of an alliance between his party, the National Conference (NC), and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“Our vision rarely aligns,” Abdullah stated, reinforcing the NC’s stance against joining forces with the BJP.
Shifting gears, Abdullah took a moment to commend former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s contributions to India’s economic growth. Reflecting on Singh’s tenure, he acknowledged the transformative impact of Singh’s policies, crediting him with revitalizing the economy at a time of uncertainty.
“Manmohan Singh gave India’s economy the push it needed, like a surprise spark in an engine,” Abdullah remarked, underscoring Singh’s role in shaping India’s economic trajectory.
As the political landscape continues to shift, Abdullah’s statements highlight both his firm opposition to the BJP and his recognition of Singh’s economic stewardship. By rejecting coalition talks and acknowledging a key economic architect, he reinforces his party’s independent stance while recognizing leadership beyond party lines.
