MAKKAH: The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has distributed 4,879,682 Iftar meals to worshipers at the Two Holy Mosques during the first week of Ramadan. The consumption of Zamzam water also reached 8,393 cubic meters.

Emir of Madinah Prince Salman bin Sultan joined the imams of the Prophet’s Mosque for an Iftar meal, emphasizing the leadership’s commitment to providing a peaceful and comfortable environment for worshipers. He praised the imams’ role in promoting moderation and strengthening the message of the Two Holy Mosques.

To maintain cleanliness, the authority managed the disposal of 1,196 tons of waste. In terms of crowd management, a record 500,000 Umrah pilgrims performed rituals in a single day. More than 196 entrances, including five main entry gates, facilitated smooth movement, and advanced technology was used to monitor crowd flows. Additionally, 200 digital screens were installed for wayfinding, and "pedestrian assistance teams" were deployed to assist worshipers.

Innovative services such as trial hair-shaving vehicles for Umrah pilgrims and two luggage storage centers with six collection points were also introduced.

As part of efforts to enhance visitors' cultural and religious experience, the authority inaugurated the "First Home" exhibition in the Third Saudi Expansion Area, showcasing the history and evolution of the Kaaba.

Volunteer organizations were also actively engaged, providing guidance, health, and organizational services to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for worshipers at the Grand Mosque.
