Pakistan Accuses India of State-Sponsored Cross-Border Terrorism

Islamabad: Pakistan’s military has accused India of sponsoring cross-border terrorism and presented what it claims are “concrete evidences” linking individuals arrested in Pakistan to Indian state-backed operations.

Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated in a press briefing that on April 25, a man named Abdul Majeed was arrested in Jhelum. According to the military, an improvised explosive device (IED) and an Indian drone were recovered from his possession.

The ISPR chief claimed that call recordings of handlers operating from India show their involvement in terrorist activities ranging from Balochistan to Lahore. He further asserted that these handlers also provided financial support to individuals involved in such acts.

Major General Chaudhry alleged that not only India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) but also personnel from the Indian Army were directly involved in orchestrating these attacks. “We have evidence linking these operations to serving Indian soldiers,” he said.

So far, there has been no official response from Indian authorities regarding these accusations. Historically, India has consistently denied similar claims.

In addition, the Pakistani military spokesperson claimed that junior-ranking serving officers of the Indian Army are acting as handlers in cross-border terrorist operations, describing it as “state-sponsored terrorism.”

Referring to a recent attack in Pahalgam, he said that attempts to carry out retaliatory attacks in Pakistan were thwarted. “We have solid intelligence that after the Pahalgam incident, terror cells including Baloch insurgents, TTP (Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan), and other independent groups were activated within Pakistan.”

He added that in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, Pakistani forces have neutralized 71 militants.
