Pakistan Establishes Riot Control Force to Protect Islamabad from Unrest

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the formation of a Radd-ul-Fasaad force to safeguard Islamabad from future unrest and effectively counter those responsible for recent disturbances in the federal capital. The decision was made during a high-level meeting on law and order held at the Prime Minister's Office.

According to an official statement, the Prime Minister has set up a task force under the leadership of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to identify the individuals involved in inciting violence and to ensure appropriate legal actions are taken against them. The task force will also include Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar, and representatives from the country’s security forces. The statement outlined that the task force is mandated to identify armed individuals and those involved in violent incidents during the November 24 unrest, ensuring they face strict penalties under the law.

Additionally, the meeting decided to establish a Federal Riot Control Force to prevent any future attempts to spread unrest or violence. This force will be equipped with professional training and state-of-the-art resources to meet international standards, ensuring effective responses to potential disturbances. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the federal capital and across the country.
