Pakistan Hints at Cross-Border Action Against Terrorists in Afghanistan

Islamabad: Pakistan has indicated the possibility of conducting operations inside Afghanistan in pursuit of terrorists, with Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stating that the country will go after its enemies, even beyond its borders if necessary.

Speaking exclusively on Geo News program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, Khawaja Asif asserted that any entity threatening Pakistan’s existence would be pursued wherever required. He accused the Afghan government of harboring members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), alleging that the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had facilitated the return of TTP militants to establish a private militia.

The defense minister emphasized that the National Action Plan was already in place and was now being revived to ensure the complete eradication of terrorism. He assured that the government would provide security institutions with all necessary resources to protect the nation from terrorist threats.

His remarks follow a recent National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, after which he reiterated Pakistan's resolve to take decisive action against terrorism. He stressed that both civilian and military leadership were working to unite the nation against enemies, expressing confidence that Pakistan would emerge victorious in this fight against terrorism.
