PML-N Senator Calls for Joint US-Pakistan Effort to Remove Weapons from Afghanistan

Islamabad: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Senator Irfan Siddiqui has stated that the United States left behind a vast amount of weapons in Afghanistan in its haste to withdraw, and these weapons are now being used in acts of terrorism against Pakistan. He emphasized that both the US and Pakistan should work together to remove these weapons from Afghanistan to prevent their misuse.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, Senator Irfan Siddiqui highlighted that the abandoned American weapons in Afghanistan have become a significant security threat. He pointed out that Pakistan has faced more terrorism than any other country and has made unparalleled efforts to combat terrorism.

He further stressed that both the US and Pakistan share a common stance on this issue, as removing these weapons would help curb their use against Pakistan. "If the US is willing to take action in this regard, we are on the same page," he remarked.

Senator Siddiqui reiterated that Pakistan has made the greatest sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and urged collaborative efforts to eliminate threats posed by the leftover weapons in Afghanistan.
