Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump extended his warm greetings and respects to Muslims around the world as they begin the holy month of Ramadan.
In an official statement released by the White House, President Trump described Ramadan as “a sacred time for fasting, prayer, and community.” He expressed his heartfelt regards in honor of the holy month, acknowledging its spiritual significance.
"As millions of American Muslims commence the month of Ramadan, my administration reaffirms its commitment to protecting religious freedom, which remains an inseparable part of American life," the statement read.
The president further conveyed his best wishes, emphasizing the spirit of Ramadan: "During this Ramadan, I extend my heartfelt wishes in this joyous season, which reflects God’s boundless mercy and infinite love. May God bless you and your families during this blessed time."
Muslims in the United States and across the world began observing Ramadan on Saturday. The U.S., with a population of approximately 330 million, is home to over four million Muslims.
