PTI Announces Nationwide Protests on Third Anniversary of Government's Ouster

Lahore: On the third anniversary of the ouster of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, the party has announced a series of protest rallies across Punjab.

According to reports, PTI has issued directives to all former members of the National and Provincial Assemblies, as well as ticket holders, to organize protests in their respective constituencies. These rallies will be held in every constituency, and participants have been instructed to bring as many supporters as possible along with party flags.

The party leadership has also directed local leaders to record videos of the rallies and submit them for documentation. PTI Punjab Chief Organizer Alia Hamza stated that these rallies will serve as a show of loyalty to party founder Imran Khan. "Our workers will send a strong message through these rallies that we have not forgotten the regime change," she added.

It is worth noting that on April 10, 2022, Pakistan witnessed the first-ever successful no-confidence motion against a sitting Prime Minister. Imran Khan was removed from office after 174 members of the National Assembly voted in favor of the motion brought by the opposition.

Following Supreme Court orders, the National Assembly session was convened for voting on the motion. Then-Speaker Asad Qaiser resigned during the session, citing the "ground realities," and handed over proceedings to PML-N's Ayaz Sadiq, who was a member of the panel of chairmen.

After the vote, Ayaz Sadiq announced that out of the 342 members of the National Assembly, 174 had voted in favor of the no-confidence motion, making Imran Khan the first Prime Minister in Pakistan's history to be removed by such a move.
