PTI Leader Azam Swati Emphasizes Dialogue as Only Way Forward to Save Pakistan

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Azam Swati stated that he has persuaded party founder Imran Khan to agree to dialogue, stressing that negotiations are the only solution to save the country from further destruction. Speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Swati said, "I don't know whether the other side has softened its stance, but dialogue is the only path forward."

Swati emphasized that both he and Imran Khan are deeply concerned about the future of Pakistan and its coming generations. "Currently, there is no leader in the country capable of steering it in the right direction," he added.

When asked by a journalist whether there had been any thaw from the other side, Swati responded, “God willing, I hope so. This country belongs to all of us, and negotiations are the only solution.”

Earlier, Swati had claimed that Imran Khan is still willing to come to the negotiating table, provided that the establishment is ready for talks. He said the PTI founder’s blessing would be behind any such effort.

In a recent video message following his meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, Swati criticized certain vloggers and TV anchors for spreading false news, although he did not name anyone directly.

Amid rising internal tensions within PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ranks, Swati also voiced support for provincial Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, PTI KP leader Junaid Akbar, and party General Secretary Salman Akram Raja, stating that all three were personally selected by Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has extended Azam Swati’s interim bail in four cases related to the events of May 9 until May 13.
