PTI Prepares Plan B as Permission for Minar-e-Pakistan Rally Remains Uncertain

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has devised an alternative plan after facing hurdles in obtaining permission for its scheduled rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on February 8.

According to sources, if the Lahore administration denies PTI the permission to hold the rally, the party will not shift the event to another location. Instead, it will observe February 8 as a "Black Day" by staging protests across various cities in Punjab, including Lahore.

Meanwhile, preparations for PTI's rally in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are in full swing. The party's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president has claimed that the February 8 rally will be the largest in the province's history.

It is important to note that PTI had announced February 8 as a "Black Day" in protest against alleged election rigging. The party had initially planned two major rallies in Lahore and Swabi to mark the occasion.

The Lahore rally has sparked political tensions, as it coincides with the inauguration of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The government remains firm on its decision not to grant PTI permission for the event. Consequently, PTI leaders have filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking legal permission for the rally.

However, if the court also denies the request, PTI has resolved to implement its Plan B by organizing protests across Punjab on February 8.
