Doha: On April 23, 2025, the first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Togo took place in Lome, the capital of Togo.
The meeting was chaired by Qatar’s Secretary-General of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, and by Togo’s Secretary-General of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad, Ousmane Afo Salifou
During this session, both sides reviewed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and tackled a range of regional and international issues of shared interest.
On the sidelines of these talks, Qatar and Togo signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in youth and sports, underlining their joint commitment to broaden partnership opportunities and to strengthen collaboration in these fields.
These consultations mark an important step in Qatar’s efforts to reinforce ties with African nations, reflecting Doha’s broader foreign-policy goal of expanding dialogue and concrete cooperation with partners across the continent.
