Rampura: In a significant development on Thursday morning, RAPID ACTION BATTALION (RAB) arrested three individuals for the assault of a female journalist from Rampura in Dhaka. The incident occurred on March 2, with video clips of it going viral on social media, shocking citizens.
The arrested trio-Shoaib Rahman Jishan (25), Md Raisul Islam (21), and Md Kawsar Hossain (21)-were apprehended from different areas of the capital city: Meradia, Bailey Road-, and Gendaria. The accused have already been charged under the `Women and Children Repression Prevention (Amendment) Act` at Rampura Police Station.
This incident saw a female journalist being harassed in broad daylight by a group of men, loud cries for justice demanded attention in every corner of the public. The grisly nature of the incident seized the public imagination, with mounting calls for expedited justice.
