Riyadh will host the first fashion show focusing onPakistani designers, providing a significant opportunity for cultural exchange and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The first Riyadh-Fashion Week 2024 will be held on November 16 and aims to enhance the relationship between the two countries' fashion industries.
The event has been organised by event managers Shakeel Ehsan, Ayesha Mohsin and Adnan BashirKhan, who have years of experience, and will be involved in both off-site and production. 80 percent of the designers are from Pakistan, while the others are from India, UAE and the US.
“The aim of organising this conference is toshowcase Pakistan’s rich heritage, promote cultural exchange and create a platform for collaboration between the fashion industry, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia,” Ehsan said. He said the event provides anew perspective on Pakistani fashion, which has always been underrepresented in the Saudi Arabian Market. Famous Pakistani designers Amir and MalihaStudio and Indian designers like Pam Mehta andAsma Gulzar are known for their bridal designs and semi-formal wear.
Ehsan noted that the exhibition will also create career opportunities for local models, painters and designers. "This is the biggest event for Riyadh and marks the first time that Pakistan's design talent has been showcased in the city," he added. - It will pave the way for future collaborations and contribute to the spread of fashion in the Middle East.
Deepak Perwani, one of Pakistan's leading designers , expressed his excitement at the event,which was his first collection in Riyadh. We have taught in Dubai, Doha and Bahrain, but this is the first time we have taught in Riyadh. There is a big trade here , especially with the large Pakistani and Indian communities.
Perwani will be presenting its winter collecting ,evening wear and half wear for weddings and the upcoming holiday season. The first guest of the event will be Pakistani actress Sajal Aly, known for her role in the film Zard Patton Ka Bunn. It Showcases the creativity, craftsmanship and innovation of Pakistani designers in various fields such as fashion, textile, jewellery and interior design.
