According to Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, the women were Bamba Fanta (31) and Abigail Adonis (30), who were apprehended from Delhi while carrying the illegal drugs hidden in trolley bags.

While Fanta first entered India in 2020 on a business visa, Adonis has lived in India since 2016. Both women had professed to working with the said drug cartel for a span of one to two years. About six months ago, an operation that yielded their apprehension began when a certain male by the name of Haider Ali was arrested in Mangaluru in possession of 15 grams of MDMA. Further investigations linked to the entire case to Peter, a Nigerian national arrested in Bengaluru with 6 kilograms of MDMA.
