Riyadh – Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht Ravanchi, affirmed the determination of Iran and Saudi Arabia to establish lasting peace and stability in the region during a visit to Riyadh. The high-level discussions emphasized the importance of bilateral and regional collaboration to address mutual challenges and pave the way for long-term prosperity and security.

Bilateral Ties Strengthened

During a meeting with Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed ElKhereiji, Takht Ravanchi focused on enhancing relations in the political, economic, and consular domains. The Iranian diplomat praised the Saudi-Iranian partnership, describing it as a “successful model” for cooperation that promotes peace, security, and development at both regional and international levels.

Trilateral Committee Meeting

The visit included the second meeting of the Saudi-Iranian-Chinese trilateral committee, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to the Beijing Agreement. Mediated by China, the agreement seeks to restore diplomatic ties and foster mutual respect for sovereignty, security, and international law. Both countries highlighted the progress achieved since the agreement's signing, including the reopening of embassies and increased bilateral engagement.

Constructive Dialogue

Takht Ravanchi described the trilateral meeting as “cordial and transparent,” noting that Iran, Saudi Arabia, and China exchanged views on shared interests and discussed practical steps to deepen cooperation. He emphasized the significance of historical ties and good neighborly principles as key drivers for advancing relations.

China’s Role in Regional Stability

China commended the progress between Iran and Saudi Arabia, expressing its support for their efforts to maintain regional stability. Beijing reiterated its commitment to facilitating dialogue and fostering collaboration to uphold the principles of the UN Charter and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
