RIYADH: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned and denounced the resurgence of violence in Gaza after Israel launched its most intense airstrikes overnight since a ceasefire was established two months ago.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, more than 400 people were killed in the attacks, which occurred during the holy month of Ramadan. The ministry reported that 413 bodies had been received by hospitals, with many victims still trapped beneath the rubble.
The Kingdom stressed the urgent need for an immediate cessation of Israeli violence, killings, and destruction, while emphasizing the importance of protecting Palestinian civilians. Saudi Arabia also called on the international community to take immediate action to halt Israeli aggression and alleviate the severe humanitarian suffering endured by the Palestinian people.
In a separate statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Syrian territory, labeling them a blatant violation of international law. The Kingdom reaffirmed its opposition to any attempts to destabilize Syria and the broader region through repeated violations of international agreements and norms.
Additionally, the Muslim World League (MWL) issued a statement on Wednesday condemning Israel’s actions. MWL Secretary-General Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa denounced the “brutal Israeli aggression,” calling it a flagrant violation of international law that threatens regional security and stability.
