Saudi Arabia Confirms Full Hajj Readiness With Over 1.07M Pilgrims Arrived

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its full readiness for the Hajj 1446H season, with over 1.07 million pilgrims already in the Kingdom.

Senior ministers announced that advanced digital systems and integrated service plans are in place to ensure a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience.

At a joint press conference, officials from the ministries of Hajj and Umrah, Health, Transport, and Media outlined operational plans aligned with Vision 2030’s goals for service excellence.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said more than 1.4 million Nusuk smart cards had been issued and over 30 new digital services launched through the Nusuk platform to support every stage of the pilgrim journey from arrival and mobility to guidance and real-time updates.

“Pilgrim camps in Mina and Arafat are now fully integrated with crowd management systems,” Al-Rabiah said, adding that preparations began immediately after the previous Hajj season.

“From digital permits to onsite inspections, our goal is a safe, efficient pilgrimage for all.”

The ministry has also carried out more than 37,000 inspections of service providers this month, addressing over 3,400 violations on the spot.

Additional support includes over 120 guidance points, the “Ask Me” service, and more than 400 electric carts for elderly and disabled pilgrims.

Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel confirmed the delivery of over 50,000 healthcare services so far, with no epidemic cases reported.

Medical preparedness has increased significantly, including a 60 percent rise in clinical capacity, supported by three field hospitals, 71 emergency points, 900 ambulances, and 11 air ambulances.

The ministry has also completed 140 surgeries, 65 heart catheterizations, and six open-heart procedures since the start of the season.

“Our focus is prevention first, followed by rapid response,” Al-Jalajel said. “We are committed to protecting every pilgrim from harm.”
