Riyadh – Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), has achieved a significant milestone by hosting the permanent secretariat of the Regional Asset Recovery Network for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA-ARN). The network was officially established during the 39th meeting of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF).

The announcement was further celebrated at the 20th general meeting of the Camden Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network (CARIN) in Paris, where Saudi Arabia was congratulated for hosting the secretariat and being selected to assume the network’s presidency in 2025.

The CARIN Secretariat praised Saudi Arabia’s initiative as a pioneering effort in combating corruption, organized crime, and asset recovery. The establishment of MENA-ARN marks a major contribution to global anti-corruption efforts, expanding the network of regional asset recovery bodies to nine, collectively covering 200 countries and territories. These networks unite law enforcement, investigative agencies, and prosecutors to trace and recover illicit assets.

Nazaha expressed gratitude to CARIN and MENAFATF member states for their support and confidence in Saudi leadership. The authority reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the network’s goals and promoting collaboration across the MENA region to strengthen efforts in asset recovery and sustainable development.
