Jeddah: Following directives from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia hosted a meeting in Jeddah on March 27, 2025, bringing together Defense Ministers from Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Lebanon.
The discussions focused on enhancing security and stability between Syria and Lebanon, resulting in an agreement on border demarcation, legal and specialized committees, and coordination mechanisms to tackle security threats. A follow-up meeting in Saudi Arabia was also agreed upon.
The Syrian and Lebanese ministers expressed gratitude to Saudi leadership for hosting the meeting and welcomed its outcomes. Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to regional security and stability.
