Riyadh: The Saudi Data and AI Authority highlighted the Kingdom’s advancements in digital transformation and smart city development during its participation in Saudi events at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
The authority detailed national initiatives to leverage data and artificial intelligence technologies to enhance service efficiency and promote sustainable development.
Mishari Almishari, deputy director of the authority’s National Information Center, emphasized that Saudi Arabia is steadily advancing toward an integrated digital society in line with Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital transformation as a core development objective.
Since its establishment in 2019, the authority has played a pivotal role by coordinating efforts through its three main entities: the National Information Center, the National Center for Artificial Intelligence, and the National Data Management Office.
Almishari noted the authority’s central role in regulating and fostering data and AI innovation, contributing to the Kingdom’s rising global standing in these fields.
He also highlighted support for smart city initiatives through projects like the National Smart C Platform, the Smart Riyadh Operations Center, and innovation-driven programs including training camps, incubators, accelerators, and national hackathons.
The authority’s presence at Expo 2025 underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing global AI development and building a more inclusive digital future.
