Saudi Arabia to Launch Inaugural Art Week Riyadh on Sunday

RIYADH: The Visual Arts Commission is set to launch the first edition of Art Week Riyadh on Sunday, a week-long event celebrating the Kingdom’s dynamic visual arts scene, according to the report.

Running through April 13 under the theme “At The Edge,” the event will take place across major cultural venues in Riyadh, including the JAX District and Al-Mousa Center.

It will bring together local, regional, and international artists, galleries, collectors, and art institutions.

The centerpiece exhibition will feature works from more than 45 galleries and will explore artistic dialogues connecting Saudi Arabia with the Middle East and the global contemporary art world.

The exhibition will be organized around three core themes: Everyday Life, Landscapes, and Motifs, highlighting how tradition and innovation coexist in Saudi visual culture.

Al-Mousa Center will host over 15 specially curated exhibitions, while the JAX District will present Collections in Dialogue, a trio of exhibitions developed in collaboration with leading cultural institutions and private collectors.

Alongside the exhibitions, Art Week Riyadh will offer a variety of talks and workshops focused on contemporary visual arts issues within the Kingdom and globally.

According to the Visual Arts Commission, the initiative aims to foster a collaborative and vibrant arts ecosystem, while celebrating Saudi Arabia’s artistic heritage and supporting its growing creative landscape.
