RIYADH: The General Administration of Education in Asir has launched the campaign “We Reach You for a Society Without Illiteracy,” aimed at reaching underserved populations in remote villages.
Fahd Aqala, Asir’s Education Director-General, stressed that the initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader mission to enhance education and eliminate illiteracy across the Kingdom.
This campaign supports social and economic development and is closely aligned with Saudi Vision 2030’s education goals, Aqala explained.
Designed to activate continuing education programs, the campaign targets communities directly, providing accessible education within local settings.
Aqala highlighted the importance of literacy, noting that it is essential not only for education but also for societal progress and sustainable development.
In 2024, the region’s continuing education programs served over 11,414 learners, both male and female, across 263 centers and evening schools.
