RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet endorsed the resolutions of the extraordinary Arab League summit in Cairo, reaffirming its opposition to the displacement of Palestinians and calling for an end to the humanitarian crisis caused by the war.

According to reports, The Cabinet reiterated its commitment to Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. It also backed the summit’s call for an international protection force in Palestinian territories and supported Egypt’s Gaza plan in coordination with Arab nations.

During the weekly session, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, ministers condemned Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza and urged the global community to hold Israel accountable while ensuring continuous aid access.

The Cabinet also addressed Lebanese affairs, emphasizing the full implementation of the Taif Agreement and Lebanon’s sovereignty. Discussions during President Joseph Aoun’s visit to Riyadh focused on strengthening bilateral ties, easing trade barriers, and supporting Lebanon’s economic recovery.

In domestic matters, the Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to social initiatives, including the Jood Regions campaign, which provides housing for underprivileged families. The campaign, launched in 2024, has received SR150 million ($40 million) in donations from King Salman and the crown prince.

Additionally, the ministers celebrated the progress of major national projects, particularly the Sports Boulevard in Riyadh. The project, now 40% complete, aims to enhance urban livability and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s Quality-of-Life Program by promoting sustainable, active lifestyles.
