BEIJING: Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley held high-level talks with Chinese officials during his official visit to China, aiming to boost strategic cooperation in the fields of water and agriculture.
Alfadley met separately with Han Jun, China’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Li Guoying, Minister of Water Resources.
During his meeting with Han Jun, the two ministers discussed enhancing agricultural cooperation, strengthening food security, and adopting advanced technologies.
The discussions focused on implementing modern agricultural systems such as closed greenhouse technologies and intensive farming practices aligned with international standards.
In talks with Li Guoying, Alfadley addressed shared challenges related to water scarcity and explored opportunities for collaboration on strategic water projects.
He also reviewed Saudi Arabia’s upcoming dam construction plans and expressed interest in leveraging China’s expertise in dam engineering and infrastructure.
The meetings underscored the commitment of both countries to deepen their strategic partnership, support sustainable development, and foster mutual benefits through knowledge exchange and expanded trade.
