JEDDAH: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting dialogue and political solutions to the Ukraine crisis during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
According to the source, The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties and explored efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. President Putin expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom’s constructive role and mediation efforts.
The phone call came after high-level talks in Jeddah on Tuesday, where U.S. and Ukrainian delegations met under the direction of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
During the Jeddah meeting, Ukraine backed a U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, while Washington agreed to immediately lift its suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv. The U.S. The Department of State described the meeting as an important step toward peace, noting that Ukraine would comply with the ceasefire if Russia agreed to the terms.
