RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney held a phone call on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and avenues to strengthen cooperation across various sectors.
The two leaders exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of achieving lasting peace in the region.
According to a readout from the Canadian prime minister’s office, the call covered key issues including energy security and expanding trade ties between Riyadh and Ottawa.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close communication moving forward.
Carney became prime minister in March and secured an electoral victory in May, following the resignation of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
