Saudi Crown Prince, Iranian President Discuss Regional Issues

RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone call on Friday to exchange Eid Al-Fitr greetings and discuss regional developments.

According to the source, During the conversation, the two leaders reviewed key regional issues and areas of mutual interest. 

They emphasized the importance of strengthening unity among Muslim nations to enhance peace, security, and progress across the region.

President Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran does not seek conflict with any country but stands ready to defend itself if necessary.

He expressed Iran’s willingness to engage in dialogue and negotiations to resolve tensions, based on mutual interests and respect.

"We do not seek war with any country, but we have no hesitation in defending ourselves," Pezeshkian said, adding that Iran’s defensive readiness remains at the highest level.

The leaders also discussed the importance of cooperation in preventing oppression and supporting the rights of Islamic nations, including the Palestinian cause and the situation in Gaza. 

President Pezeshkian voiced confidence that Islamic countries, through unity, can help achieve lasting security and prosperity in the region.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Pezeshkian’s call for Islamic unity and expressed hope that increased cooperation between Riyadh and Tehran would contribute to regional stability and development. 

He also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s readiness to assist in efforts toward de-escalation and dialogue in the region.
