MALÉ: Saudi Arabia's Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, has been given the 2025 shield by the Maldives' Ministry of Islamic Affairs for encouraging tolerance, moderation, and intercultural dialogue.
Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair, imam and khatib of the Prophet's Mosque, accepted the honor on behalf of Al-Asheikh from Maldivian Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shahim Ali Saeed.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Minister of Regions Adam Sharif Omar, Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafi, and Sheikh Mohamed Latif Ali, grand imam of Sultan Mohamed Takrufan Grand Mosque.
The recognition highlights Al-Asheikh’s efforts in advancing moderation, coexistence, and constructive engagement, as well as his continued support for Islamic cooperation.
His initiatives in dawah, education, and community development have significantly contributed to strengthening Islamic values and raising awareness within Maldivian society.
