RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has released the 2024 annual report on Vision 2030, marking the ninth year of its transformative national initiative aimed at diversifying the economy and enhancing social development.
The report shows that 93% of the key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to Vision 2030 goals have either been achieved, exceeded, or are nearing completion.
Since the initiative’s launch, 674 out of 1,502 total projects have been completed, with 85% either finished or on track by the end of 2024.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz expressed pride in the Kingdom’s transformation, calling it a global model of progress.
Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman echoed this sentiment, highlighting the determination of Saudi citizens and the Kingdom’s continued pursuit of ambitious goals.
Key achievements include surpassing the 2030 targets in eight KPIs, such as female workforce participation, now at 33.5%, and a significant drop in unemployment.
The Kingdom has welcomed over 100 million tourists, well ahead of schedule, and improved its global standing in digital governance.
Additional progress includes the growth of volunteers to over 1.2 million and the establishment of 571 regional headquarters for international firms.
Saudi Arabia has also seen strong performance in healthcare, education, home ownership, and private sector contributions to GDP.
However, the report noted three underperforming areas: environmental indicators, livability of Saudi cities, and the share of non-oil exports in GDP.
These areas are under review, with targeted efforts underway to boost results.
The Vision 2030 report underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainable development, global leadership, and continued economic diversification.
