RIYADH: The Ministry of Interior has reaffirmed that all Hajj and Umrah service companies must strictly comply with Saudi Arabia’s regulations and instructions.
Companies that fail to report pilgrims or Umrah performers who overstay their visas will face financial penalties of up to SR100,000 ($26,600), with the fines increasing based on the number of violators, according to the report.
Meanwhile, Matarat Holding Co. announced that over 6.8 million passengers and Umrah pilgrims passed through four Saudi airports from the start of Ramadan to the seventh of Shawwal.
These airports include: King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Madinah, Prince Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Yanbu and Taif International Airport.
Of the total passenger count, over 4.6 million traveled on international flights and 2.1 million on domestic routes.
