Seoul Parade Honors Final Squid Game Season With Massive Celebration

Seoul: Thousands of fans gathered in the South Korean capital on Saturday to mark the release of the final season of Squid Game, the global Netflix hit that helped define Korea’s cultural rise. The third and final season premiered Friday, concluding the dark drama where desperate contestants risk their lives in twisted versions of childhood games.

Crowds near Gyeongbokgung Palace watched a parade featuring performers in the iconic pink guard uniforms, oversized props from the series, and the show’s flag. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who launched the series nearly four years ago, said he “poured everything” into its creation and felt both sentimental and relieved to see it end.

Actor Lee Byung-hun, who plays the show’s masked Front Man, called the series a “cultural phenomenon” and a landmark moment in Korean content history. Fans like Park Sang-gyu praised its emotional depth, saying it reflects real life, not just deadly games.
