Makkah:The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has confirmed its readiness for the 2025 Hajj season, emphasizing its commitment to safeguarding food, medicine, and medical devices for pilgrims.
This plan aligns with the Authority's ongoing efforts to ensure the health and well-being of Hajj participants, reflecting the Kingdom's dedication to providing resources for pilgrims.
SFDA personnel will oversee product safety at all air, land, and sea entry points, as well as monitor food establishments and medical sites in Makkah and Madinah.
The Authority will also inspect products arriving via air cargo at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport and Medina’s Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport.
In addition to inspections, the SFDA will conduct educational workshops for staff in approved food preparation kitchens, ensuring health standards are met.
Multilingual awareness campaigns will also be launched to educate pilgrims on food and drug safety.
This proactive approach underscores the SFDA’s collaboration with government agencies to ensure a safe and successful Hajj season while reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s leadership in crowd management.
