Sheikh Mohammed issues law on government land allocation to public entities in Dubai

Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, has issued Law No. (6) of 2025, regulating the allocation of government land plots to public entities in Dubai.

The law aligns land distribution with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, ensuring efficient land use and supporting public entities in fulfilling their mandates.

The law sets out conditions for allocating government land to federal and local entities, aiming to assist them in delivering services and establishing facilities for legal functions.

It defines the responsibilities of Dubai Municipality, including receiving allocation requests, assessing land needs, and determining plot locations and sizes.

Dubai Municipality is tasked with issuing site maps, maintaining land data registries, and coordinating with the Land Department to ensure alignment.

The law grants the Municipality authority to reclaim land or alter allocated plots if certain conditions are met.

The law emphasizes the urgent need for land based on economic, security, social, and service factors, and will be effective 30 days after publication in the Official Gazette.
