DAMASCUS: Syria has expressed deep gratitude to Saudi Arabia and Qatar for their support in settling $15 million of its outstanding financial dues to the World Bank.
In an official statement on Sunday, the Syrian government praised the gesture as a significant act of solidarity during the country’s difficult period, calling it a key step in aiding Syria’s economic stability and recovery efforts.
“The actions of Saudi Arabia and Qatar demonstrate a shared commitment to alleviating the economic strain on the Syrian people.
This payment will help Syria manage its international financial obligations and foster stronger cooperation with international institutions,” the statement read.
Syria expressed hopes for a continued partnership with both countries, aiming to enhance collaboration that benefits all Arab nations and promotes regional stability.
The government also emphasized its desire to strengthen future relations and explore additional opportunities for cooperation.
