Trump Slams Iran's Supreme Leader Over ‘False’ Claims of Victory Against Israel

Washington/Tehran: U.S. President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, accusing him of making “false” claims about Iran’s success in its conflict with Israel.

In a post shared Friday on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “His country was destroyed, three evil nuclear sites were eliminated, and I knew exactly where he [Khamenei] was hiding — but I still didn’t allow Israeli and U.S. forces to end his life.”

The remarks came in response to a video message released Thursday by Ayatollah Khamenei, in which the Iranian leader declared Iran the “victor” in the recent conflict with Israel. In the same address, Khamenei criticized the United States and President Trump, claiming the U.S. had directly entered the war “because it feared the Zionist regime would otherwise be completely destroyed.”

Khamenei went on to assert that America “gained nothing from this war” and said Iran had delivered “a stinging slap” to the United States.

Reacting further on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “I saved him [Khamenei] from a terrible and humiliating death, and he didn’t even say, ‘Thank you, President Trump.’”

In response, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on X (formerly Twitter) that if President Trump wants a deal with Iran, he must “abandon his offensive and unacceptable language” regarding the Supreme Leader.

“President Trump’s behavior has wounded the hearts of his millions of genuine followers,” Araghchi added.

Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have remained high following the escalation of hostilities involving Israel, with both nations continuing to exchange harsh rhetoric amid broader regional instability, meanwhile , according to Trump, the next round of talks between Iran and US is expected Next week.
