Trump Slams U.S. Media Over Iran Strike Reports, Reiterates Claims of Nuclear Facility Destruction

Washington: President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on U.S. media outlets CNN and The New York Times following the leak of a classified intelligence report related to the recent American strikes on Iran. Trump claimed that Iran's nuclear facilities have been "completely destroyed," contradicting reports suggesting otherwise.

Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump accused both CNN and The New York Times of trying to undermine what he called "one of the most successful military operations in history." He wrote, "Fake News CNN, in collaboration with the failing New York Times, is working hard to discredit this historic victory."

Trump insisted that the strikes had entirely wiped out Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, claiming public opinion is turning against the media for allegedly distorting the facts.

Contrary to Trump’s assertion, initial intelligence assessments reported by CNN and The New York Times suggest that while the strikes did damage Iran’s nuclear capabilities, they only set Tehran’s program back by a few months rather than causing full destruction.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt pushed back strongly against the reports, calling them "entirely false."

In a separate move, Trump posted a 60-second video on Truth Social featuring B-2 bombers dropping munitions, accompanied by dramatic music repeating the phrase “bombing Iran.” The video has sparked controversy given its timing, coming shortly after a fragile ceasefire agreement was reached between Iran and Israel.

The provocative content and Trump’s repeated claims of "total destruction" risk fueling further tensions in the region. Throughout recent weeks, both Trump and members of his administration have consistently emphasized the narrative that Iran’s nuclear facilities were decisively eliminated.

In a Monday morning post, Trump reiterated his position, declaring: “The correct term to describe it is complete annihilation.”*Trump Slams U.S. Media Over Iran Strike Reports, Reiterates Claims of Nuclear Facility Destruction*
