The UAE Cabinet has announced the official list of public holidays for 2025. Here are the confirmed dates for both public and private sector workers:
New Year: January 1, 2025 (Wednesday)
Eid Al Fitr: The dates will be confirmed based on moon sighting, expected to be a three-day holiday from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3.
Arafat Day: One-day holiday on the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah (exact date to be confirmed after moon sighting).
Eid Al Adha: Three-day holiday following Arafat Day, from Dhu Al Hijjah 10 to Dhu Al Hijjah 12.
Islamic New Year: One-day holiday on the first day of Muharram (exact date to be confirmed).
Prophet Muhammad’s [PBUH] Birthday: One-day holiday on the 12th of Rabi Al Awwal (exact date to be confirmed after moon sighting).
Eid Al Etihad: December 2-3, 2025 (Tuesday and Wednesday).
Note that some holidays like Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha are based on moon sightings, and exact dates will be confirmed closer to the events.
