UAE to Lift Travel Ban on Lebanon

DUBAI: The UAE Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that it will lift its travel ban on citizens visiting Lebanon starting May 7, 2025.

The move follows visits of Lebanese President with the UAE.

The decision was made after a joint statement issued Thursday, in which President Aoun and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed agreed to take steps to ease travel and enhance movement between the two nations, according to the report.

The UAE initially imposed the travel ban in 2021. The restriction only applied to Emirati citizens, while Lebanese nationals remained free to travel to the UAE.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed the decision, calling it a reflection of the strong ties between Beirut and Abu Dhabi.

He expressed gratitude to the UAE and its leadership, saying the move “deserves all thanks and appreciation,” according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.

“Lebanon and its people eagerly look forward to welcoming their Emirati brothers, as well as visitors from the Gulf and the wider Arab world,” Salam added.
