Indian National Railways created history by operating a whole women's crew on the Vande Bharat Express. From Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai to Sainagar Shirdi, train number 22223 West has had women crew and operated this memorable event.

Train operations included loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, train managers, ticket examiners (TCs), and train hostesses.

Says Chief Public Relations Officer-Central Railways Swapnil Nila, "That special foray is meant for empowering women on the railways and will be regular in other Vande Bharat trains, and virtually in goods trains."

Nila reiterated that Indian Railways is working more toward making different roles have more opportunities for women-including having all-women crew in this iconic train service.

Thus, while keeping it embedded in social media, Central Railways heralded this historic feat as the tribute to strength, hard work, and leadership among women in the Indian Railways.

"HISTORIC MOMENT! For the first time ever, a Vande Bharat Express is being operated fully by an all women crew. It will depart from the CSMT on this #InternationalWomensDay!"

With this historical moment, the apostrophe from the Prime Minister was on woman everywhere: he recognized 'Nari Shakti' on this very day, then encouraged these women from various fields simultaneously taking over his social media accounts to showcase their achievements and contributions to the country.
