Brentford Rejects Manchester United’s £62.5m Transfer Bid for Bryan Mbeumo

London: Brentford have rejected Manchester United’s improved offer worth up to £62.5 million for Bryan Mbeumo, sources confirmed on Saturday. United’s latest proposal included £55 million upfront and £7.5 million in add-ons for the 25-year-old Cameroon international. Earlier this month, Brentford also turned down an initial bid of £45 million plus £10 million in bonuses.

Mbeumo, who scored a career-high 20 goals and made nine assists last season, remains a key part of Brentford’s squad. United is still pursuing, aiming to boost its attacking options after signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for the same fee. However, Brentford reportedly wants at least as much as Wolves received in guaranteed cash for Cunha.

Mbeumo has just one year left on his contract but is also attracting interest from Tottenham, where new boss Thomas Frank is eager for a reunion, and from several Champions League clubs.

Mbeumo, a close friend and international teammate of Andre Onana, could miss up to four weeks of the 2025–26 season due to AFCON duties with Cameroon, starting 24 December against Gabon. Since arriving from the French side of Troyes in 2019, Mbeumo has scored 70 goals in 242 matches, playing a vital role in Brentford’s rise to the Premier League.
