Brooklyn: Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs will remain in custody ahead of his trial on sex-trafficking charges after a US judge denied his request for $50 million bail. The decision was made on November 22 by US District Judge Arun Subramanian, following a two-hour hearing.Combs, 55, has been held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center for over 10 weeks since his arrest. He faces charges of using his business empire, including Bad Boy Entertainment, to sexually exploit women. Prosecutors claim that Combs coerced women into recorded sexual performances with male sex workers, sometimes transported across state lines.
Combs denied the charges, asserting that the sexual activities were consensual. His lawyers argued that he should be confined to his Manhattan apartment with private security, but prosecutors cited concerns about Combs potentially tampering with witnesses or acting violently. The decision comes after Combs was previously denied bail three times. Prosecutors also referenced a 2016 hotel surveillance video showing him assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie, further strengthening their case that Combs poses a danger to the community.
