Dubai's Great Online Sale Supercharges E-Commerce and Retail Innovation

UAE: Dubai’s Great Online Sale has just concluded another record-breaking edition, proving its major role in boosting the city’s fast-growing e-commerce sector.

This year’s event took place from April 7, 2025, and saw thousands of shoppers enjoying massive discounts of up to 95% at more than 85 brands across eight different product categories, all during a busy four-day online shopping weekend. The sale was organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and hosted at Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The event brought together over 400 artists and global retailers, and for the first time, it introduced a unique immersive shopping experience with a virtual mall. Through this new digital space, customers could explore top brands, unlock special discounts, and even take part in a grand raffle for AED 100,000 along with bonus cash prizes of up to AED 50,000.

This enhancement attracted a large number of online visitors and set a new standard for digital retail experiences in the region.

According to Ahmed Al Khaja, the CEO of DFRE, the Great Online Sale has grown in influence and participation, with a reported 20% increase in the number of retailers compared to last year.

His comments, shared through DFRE’s communications, emphasized how the event brings together strong partnerships that drive growth in Dubai’s retail economy by connecting local and international brands with millions of eager shoppers.

Additional details highlight that key players like Amazon and Apparel Group also participated, contributing to a more dynamic online shopping experience.

Tamima Hamadeh, Head of Marketing UAE at Amazon, celebrated the collaboration, noting that the event supported a stress-free shopping experience with flexible payment solutions and instant bank discounts, offering incredible savings during the busy Eid season.

Neeraj Teckchandan, CEO of Apparel Group, echoed these sentiments by stating that the event reinforces their leadership in digital retail while building lasting customer connections.

The background of the event reveals Dubai’s commitment to evolving its retail landscape by embracing digital transformation and innovation.

The Great Online Sale not only provides huge discounts and exclusive digital experiences but also strengthens Dubai’s reputation as a global retail hub.

With robust support from key partners such as the Commercial Bank of Dubai, Al Futtaim Malls, and Majid Al Futtaim, the event has become a cornerstone for retail innovation, combining both online and offline shopping experiences to drive the city’s retail industry forward.
